Neptune Posted by Roxann on January 20th, 2004 02:58 PM In reply to buying a house with one there by Robin on January 13th, 2004 07:08 PM [Go to top of thread]
I've had both washer & dryer since 1997. I've had no problems till today & the door won't lock, so the spin won't complete...over phone, service man said control board & door latch $300. It does get mildew in the front, where the water sets, which, when I do a load of whites, I pour bleach & it cleans it out. My daughter has a Neptune & she had a serviceman put the drain system in the front, which they do to the new ones, it cost her $70, but keeps water from standing & consequently free of mildew.
I have liked the way my washer has washed & saved money on water, because it senses loads & water levels automatically for small loads & king size comforters for large loads, not to mention the electric for the dryer, because the washer spins clothes very dry, compared to my last washer, which was a GE. (I had to dry & dry because the clothes did not spin dry) I guess it's like anything electronic, stuff happens. The old washers worked longer, cause there wasn't anything, electronically, to go wrong, but with ease, comes expense, tv's, dvd's, cars, etc., it happens sooner or later to all of it.
Just enjoy it & when it breaks, fix it, like your favorite car. (no, I don't have stock in Maytag; don't even have a friend that works there!)
I'm going to try & contact Maytag & see what's going on...the squeeky wheel gets the oil...but all in all, the product has been good to me!! Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
