My husband and I are looking into purchasing an older Queen Anne style home and were surprised to see that in the gables of the home, there are what look to be slats of mortar and pebbles as siding. I've tried to research all over to see if this is was a historic technique, but have found nothing to indicate that. Was someone just being resourceful?
