eliminating burnt plastic smell

Recently an attachment to my electric griddle was left on the burner, and melted down. smell was horrible. After 4 days, with fans, windows, fabreeze, candles etc still strong. I tried simmering a pot of water with cinnamin sticks, nutmeg, fresh ginger, lemon slices, apples, etc..any spice I thought would smell nice. Walked around house with simmering pot allowing steam to rise to ceilings, curtains etc..left simmering hours..next morning, no smell. Worth a try. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
