The foot valve at the bottom of our well is stuck in the open position, allowing water to drain back down the well, causing the pump to run repeatedly(short-cycling) We have a General Electric 1/2 HP jet pump with two ports (one is 1-1/4" and the other is 1") connected to two PVC pipes the same size respectively running back down the well. One pipe ejects water into the well while the other sucks it up. I want to put a check valve to stop the water from draining back into the well. Which one do I put it on--the 1-1/4" or the 1" line?
