Sony 32" Plasma - how to remove built-in stand

Can anyone tell me how to remove the built-in stand from a Sony KE32TS2? Have already removed all the bottom screws but still the stand will not detach from the unit. I have now installed it on the wall with the stand jutting out - ugly!
