no heat

I have no heat and it's -40oC outside. The furnace goes on for 5 minutes, produces no heat, and then turns off. I took the filter out because it was dirty, but it continues not to work and there is no heat coming out of the vents....any advice? It is a electronically auto-ignite (no pilot light).
