just found this thread - My Complete Heat problems are minor compared to many of yours - I've been fighting the unit shutting down periodically due to the primary limit switch resetting. Solved the shut down problem originally by resetting manually but permanently by replacing with a 50 cent auto resetting thermal limit switch. This works because the control board will restart one hour after an error signal (provided the error goes away).
This week I replaced the circulator motor cartridge which is intended to circulate the heated water while the gasflame is on to reduce hot spots (like "over-temp"ing the primary limit switch). These two fixes have much improved the operation of the Complete Heat system. I think that the main problem has been the failure of the circulator motor at the top of the HM30 unit. This motor can be replaced very easily (and cheaply) with no more than a socket wrench in under 10 minutes.
There are two critical circulator motors in the complete heat unit - one in the top of the HM30 and one within the AM30 unit (to circulate water from the heating unit through the air handler). In the future I plan to keep two spare motor cartridges handy for emergencies.
