owners manual will not contain detailed info about fault codes. depending on the manufacturer (kenmore products are made by whirlpool, GE, Figidaire, etc......) fault codes are specific to a manufacturer. Typically F1 relates to a faulty keypad but not always the case. There may be a technical manual on the back or inside the bottom drawer or sometimes inside the console. The tech manual will spell out what the fault codes represent.
