furnace closet size

I have looked everywhere with no luck for the answer to this simple question. Hopefully someone out there can help me. We are adding an addition and I am drawing the basic plans. We need to add another furnace (to take care of the doubled load and for separate thermostats in each part of the house). I'd like to add the second one right next to the old one. The home is old and the furnace is in the hallway with no inclosure. I'd like to add the second furnace and enclose the two, but I need to know how much space I have to leave between and around them to pass code. Does anyone know?
