After reading all of your posts, I feel somewhat better. You know that saying Misery loves company! We purchased our Neptune washer and dryer 6 years ago and belive me when I say the Maytag repairman can not be all that lonely with all the trips he's made to fix our machines. I think it all has been named, boots, door switches, pc boards, leaking, ect. Also, the dryer makes my clothes so wrinkled that I am forced to iron. The repairman told me that I needed to change the setting on the dryer! Like that was a new concept! Today, Feb.2,2004 was the last straw. The washer will not spin out the rinse water and the pc board sounds like it is making a grinding noise. So I called Maytag and their response was too bad, your Machine is too old!! Six years! I just went out and bought a new Whirlpool washing machine and dryer. I bought the old fashion one, no electronic button(just dials) and a good old fashin agitator! Of course Maytag had one of them, (agitator) always available on the phone! Good Luck to you all. I think I will make a flower pot out of my Maytag machine! To think we paid so much for so little.
