Old, basement smell in wood curio cabinet

Posted by Jamie on February 3rd, 2004 12:31 AM

I just recently brought a wood and glass curio cabinet up to my apartment that has been stored in a cold basement for many years. I noticed while cleaning it that it has a very musty smell inside. The smell isnt moldy or anything like that, just the smell from sitting for awhile. I currently have baking soda sitting in dishes on each shelf to help absorb the odor. I also heard kitty litter works....any other ideas for a fast solution?! I don't have weeks to let it air out unfortunately!
