removing sealer from slate

Hello my name is Mike ,
You should use a sealer remover or varnish stripper sold at your local hardware store.
The solvent should be able to break down the urethane. These solvents are usually very toxic so proper eye hands and breathing protection is needed. Look for a product that is water soluable.And always do a test area first to make sure that the solvent does not effect or change the color of the slate.
