And I cut down all the female ones that produced berries. They are disgusting, the birds, opossums, racoons eat them and their droppings stain the house siding and everything else. The kids can't play around them without getting their shoes covered with berry juice and then tracking it into the house and permanently staining any carpet or throw rug they happen to walk on.
Other than killing the tree, I don't know of any way to stop the fruit from forming. The other problem is these trees grow like weeds!
Drill (4) 3/4 inch holes as deep as you can at a 45 degree angle around the trunk of the tree. Fill the holes with full strength vegetation killer. That should stop it.
