Drop Ceiling/Decorative Beam

We have a tall basement ceiling -- 11 feet. We are in the process of finishing it and one of our thoughts was to take advantage of the ceiling height. Since we still want access to the pipes, etc., we were going to install a drop ceiling. But we also like the look of the beam ceiling. Can you do both? If you went with real wood beams, the track could be put right on the beams to create the angle. But if we chose to go with the faux beams, any suggestions on how this would work?
