water damaged ceiling

We have a ranch style house, all the ceiling have the swirl effect. Our house is completely heated by electric, with the electric coils in the ceiling for heat. We also have wood beams in some of the rooms. Problem: water damage near the wood beam, crack near the wood beam and loose plaster, how do you repair?
