I asume you meant the south.The first thing is does the slab connect to anything else. If so you will need to pretreat.You also need to cover it with 6 mill plastic.I don't know why you are covering your exeisting slab but if it has cracks other than wind cracks you should reinforce with wire and or fiber.If not cover with at least 2 inches of new concrete.
