pipes do make expansion noises and that cannot be fixed but they are not banging, more like ticking. The system needs to be looked at by someone who specializes in radiator banging - not everyone is good at it - it can be fixed but it can drive you nuts doing it - bleeding it and futzing with the valves etc.
