My home is 20 years old and has a brick fireplace (no insert)that has been leaking inside the firebox for six years. During this time I have paid four contractors in excess of $3600.00 to fix the problem but it still leaks so bad that I have to put buckets inside the firebox to catch the water. They have capped the fireplace, supposedly sprayed on a moisture barrier, tared and so on. Every contractor that I have paid has for all purposes taken my money and run. I have just replaced the roof and the flashing but that has not helped the problem. I took a flash light and shined inside the chimney and I can see the water pouring in at the roof line where the chimney starts to graduate in size and the leak appears to go all the way around but is worse on the side that faces the living room. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
