For The Most Part ... Posted by Jay J -Moderator on February 11th, 2004 07:30 AM In reply to Sorry Jay J by Ron J. on February 11th, 2004 04:31 AM [Go to top of thread]
Hi Ron and anyone else reading this,
... I do let people police themselves. But as you've seen, there has come a point where that's not happening. And out of respect for the Regular Follow-uppers, and out of respect for the not-so-regular Follow-uppers, and out of respect for the Question-posters, I unfortunately have to jump in. Really, I don't like it. This is America and I do believe in the 1st Ammendment.
But there's something else I believe in. There's a time and place for all this nonsense. The BV.com, I believe, is not the place. This is my house. And when you come into my house, I make the rules. The really GOOD thing that I do is I actually listen to those folks that come into my house. I've gotten PLENTY of mail recently on you-know-what. So when they get upset or whatever, it's time for me to act on my own rules, written or unwritten. I would like to think that everyone out there follows the same type of thinking about people coming to their house. BUT, some folks just ignore it because they come and go. I don't happen to do that. I'm here all day, all the time, sometimes into the night. With that, I tire easily.
So lets see if everyone out there can be the bigger person and just move on as you suggest. I'm sorry for replying but the audience on this topic has grown beyond me. This is a public forum. No one more than I wants to stay in the background. I pop my head up once in a while to let 'everyone' know that someone is there, watching what's going on. So, if anyone wants to 'chat' back and forth with someone else, I respectfully ask that they take it elsewhere. Exchange email addresses, or something. One should be able to create a few with their ISP, or use HotMail or Yahoo! addresses.
Let's get back to the full-time business of just helping others. Everyone out there (including you-know-who) that's contributing in small or large ways has a lot to offer those folks looking for a little help. If anyone feels the urge to criticize a Poster or a Follow-upper, please do it respectfully. I don't think one would say or suggest some of the things that have been written if they were standing in front of the person that the 'thing' is aimed at. (Bad English, I know ...) On this forum, it's too easy to be anonymous and to speak your mind w/o thinking of the repercussions vs. standing in front of someone.
I could go on and on and on but, probably like a lot of folks out there, I'm tired. Anyone can write me at moneojay at (the biggest conglomerate ISP) dot net. (That would be comcast.)
OK - Now where were we ...

PS: Those of you who have been wondering - Yes, I've been deleting Follow-ups and such, and I've even edited some too. I'm trying to find a balance. My house, remember?
