Dp, while I respect you are very knowledgable, most problems have multiple solutions with equally effective results. Often it is only a matter of personal preference due to a strength in a specific skill, or affection to a particular supplier/brand, or a regional demand.
For example, I do not favor Benjamin Moore paints, I find them lacking in several areas in comparison to another paint brand I prefer. Why? Could be because of my application technique, or my experience with a specific project, or ect.
Another example, it is a sound practice in drier northern climates, to fill walls with cellulose insulation, thereby enhancing the R factor to deal with the extreme temperatures. Whereas, down here on the Texas coast, where temperatures rarely vary more than 20-30 degrees from a livable internal temperature, and humidity is high, stuffing my walls with cellulose insulation would be an unneccessary expense and run a high chance of absorbing humidity, leading to black mold, which is known to feed off moisture and cellulose. Thereby ruining my home, eliminating any resale value, and possibly being condemned by the EPA as a environmental hazard.
In that it is rare there is only one correct solution-----
And in that often none that are absolutely correct (in that often the repair is a "patch" which extends the useful life of the item/property, not restoring it to a "like new" state)-----
As such it is impossible to be 100% correct, except on rare instances. And you answer well more than rarely.
Therefore, with all due respect, curtail your ego and take a dose of humility. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
