I agree with tomh. I have used copper to replace old lead water services. CPVC is another choice and has good results. I have used CPVC in the fire sprinkler industry, but it is also approved for underground installations in southern climates. BTW. CPVC = Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride.
