Smell after flood

Posted by Scott on February 13th, 2004 02:56 AM

Please help! Over Christmas break, our neighbors upstairs turned off their heat, and when the temperatures dropped way below freezing, their pipes burst and flooded our apartment a bit. Now, there is a horrible smell coming from our hallway that refuses to leave. I'm assuming the water inside the walls has something to do with it, perhaps the wood is starting to rot... I'm not sure. If anyone knows what it might be and the easiest way to get rid of it, please let me know. thanks.
