I bought 3 of the 6 ft. tall cabinets to store cooking equipment in it for my cooking class. I have a variety of weight on the shelves from linen to 10 pds of flour and sugar. My best guess is that it can carry at least 50 pds per shelf if place properly. Meaning the heavy stuff near the side and along the back, where the brackets are to hold the shelf and the lighter near the middle. I have on a top shelf right now about 45 to 50 pds. We roll the cabinets to and from the storage room so these cabinets are withstanding teenager abuse besides being sturdy enough to transport.
