Installing hardwood multiple rooms

Posted by Daniel M. on February 16th, 2004 09:39 AM

I'm reposting as i left out important info in original message.
I'm glue-down installing Bruce Natural Reflections, which is a 3/8" solid-oak product in multiple rooms. Any suggestions in transitioning from room to room? The manufacturer recommends treating each room separately & leaving 3/4" expansion gap in each doorway, and closing the gap with a T-molding. I'm sure this is to reduce their liability claims.
When i've examined 'professional' jobs, they simply run 2-3 planks parallel with the doorway. Is this recommended, especially with a glue-down installation?
