Not sure I have the terminology right but here's my situation.
I am replacing the cartridge type "stem" in my tub for the hot water valve. I have the correct cartridge, as well as replacement rubber grommet and spring.
Problem is the instructions say "Note the positions of groomet and spring and replace in order". Well the old grommet and spring were just laying inside the pipe, must have fallen out when I took old cartridge out.
Does the spring go inside the grommet, or does the spring just kind of lay inside the pipe?
