ceiling fan/seperate switches

I want to put up a ceiling fan, and i ran a 3 color plus ground wire thru the attic already, planning to use a combination switch. Then I got the brilliant idea that i wanted two seperate switches, one for the fan, and one for the light kit.

Can I use the wires I have already put thru the attic for two switches? Or do I need to run two new 2+ground wires? Can I even HAVE two seperate switches with the standard light kit which already makes things easier for the typical house DIY'er with the blue line that goes to the light kit?

Thanks.
