I've torn down a walk in closet in the downstairs portion of a split foyer home. I have a beam standing and don't know if it is load bearing or not. How can I tell? It is almost in the center of the room, but none of the other rooms in the lower level have any beams. If it is load bearing can it be moved? Any advice?
