I recently bought a condo with a fireplace; however, the previous owner poured cement down the chimney so the fireplace could not be used again. The mantel and brick work is beautiful, but I have no idea what to do with the interior of the fireplace. I thought about painting some type of mural or covering the interior with a decorative ceramic tile. I am just not sure what to do. I would like to do something other than just putting a decorative fireplace panel in front of where the fire would normally be.
