thats a big problem carol

can you filp the cushions? collect money from the clumsey and thoughtless friend to buy a new cushion or couch? live with the white stain?

otherwise you may try some solvents like acetone soaking but that will probally make a bigger mess on your taupe leather couch

or contact the manfacture to buy a new cushion? i hope is a cushion and not the arm where it cant be easly replaced?

or try a local leather restoration company you would find in phone book under leather repair

but you friend....if a real friend should be posting here, looking up and paying for the repairman, cushion replacement and taking care of this problem

anyways, if you decide to remove this glue yourself with solvents, try on bottom of couch first to see it it ruins the leather or removes the dye before attempting on the actual glue

i have seen product called super glue remover at my local hardware store(not home depot), they are a large well stocked harware store, perhaps you check locally for such a product

the chemical name for superglue is cyanoacrylate

so perhaps a google.com search under cyanoacrylate remover or super glue remover will assist you

or try shaveing it off the leather with a new single edge ravor, but this may also do more damage ...leaveing a scratch marks or cutting all the way thru leather

anyways, please let us know what you do and how it works and the status of your friendship and how misuse of a modern marvel such as superglue can affect friendship

to sum up, my concerns are removing the glue without doing further damage
