There should be three wiring screws. A red, white, & black. The red and white connect to your wall opener. However, the black and white connection goes to the outside coded opener. I don't have the outdoor opener so you wire around it. 1. Take a piece of wiring, like that used to wire the wall unit, and strip a section on both ends of the wire. 2. wrap BOTH white ends on the white screw, and BOTH the black or striped whatever kind of wire you are using to the black screw. It is some sort of wacked out safety. That will fake the system out and the door should operate correctly.
