The metal piping goes into the wall, up into the attic around a corner and up to the roof. It has been totally stopped up with lint twice in 10 years. I clean my lint filter after every load. My question is this, "Can I knock a hole straight through the wall behind the dryer (brick) and vent it out front? This would be only a few feet from my front door, but I am so frustrated, I know this vent must be way too long for our dryer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
