did you get a permit for your little construction project when you added the second floor?
what do you mean about looking at foundation repair companys and they look expensive? did you actually have them come over for estimates or do we read you literally and you just drove up and looked at them? what does looking expensive mean?
sounds like your being pennywise and ound foolish
if i was you , better jump on this problem before a windy day knocks your dream house down and your homeowenrs insurance denys your claim because you did not get a permit or because you ingnored common acepted building practices
i wish i could help you , perhaps the best advice is keep your husband away from the shovel
well perhaps all is not lost, others will see the folly here and learn to look iat the basement walls before adding a second floor
