I just picked some 2" x 8" x 14' lumber from home depot to sistering my existing cracked joists. I just have a couple of questions; How long should I let the wood acclimatize to my home temperture humidity etc. and second the exsiting joists actually measure 2" thick was this just they way they were cut years ago??
