For the use you intend, acclimating the wood is not too important. It will shrink 1 to3%, but in a reinforcement framing application, it does not matter. Only for carpentry and attaching floors and other surfaces that can shift do you really need to be concerned about dry lumber. If you have wet lumber, its best to nail it securely as soon as possible to prevent warp.
