no you should not have to remove frame unless the frame itself is broke
my answer depends on what is broke, type of pocket door, manfacture, whats broken (if anything)and are parts available?
dial me in and i try to help. i aint about to do all the work though, you figure out the above and make it so i can answer without spending all nite writeing a FAQ on pocket doors
is probally just of the track, get a flash light and peer into the cracks and then post exactly what the problem is
