HD carries another product which is simmular to gutter helmet. It has a long slit in the front rounded edge, and the watter will follow the curve into the gutter. Price was $3.99 for a 4ft section. They are easy to install and remove if required.
However, with this type of gutter guard, Gutter Helemet, or Leaf Guard, should you have a heavy rain, the rain runs right off the roof and not into the gutter. Thus, you will have a trench work in the dirt below the gutters.
With that said, we still LOVE our covers, as it was a monthly battle with the large oaks we have in our yard!
