Hot Surface Ignition

Sounds like what you have on your furnace. The module will re-try as much as 5 or 6 times. If it does not prove flame or any other problem, the gas valve will not open. Unfortunately your question comes in the peak of the heating season. You may need to have the flame sensor cleaned and/or replaced. Any HVAC/R Technician or a plumber can troubleshoot your problem properly. This goes beyond the scope of the DO-It-Yourselfer. Call someone in that is experienced. While the person is there ask what caused the problem and how to prevent it in the future. Good Luck.
