Brian T -- Wow!!! Now thats an installation fee.

I have no 'official' experience in HVAC but I know 'systems'; I can't believe that this is a $4000 installation unless this includes hookup to a new gas service at the curb or some similar heavy task. For this install you have a conventional gas install, air handler, water piping, electrical, etc install that is pretty conventional IMHO.

I have come to the conclusion that the HM30 circulator failing is the main problem with these systems. I think this fractional horsepower (1/35 HP) circulator motor can quit and it is almost impossible to detect short of listening for rotation with a stethoscope. All I know is that replacing the circulator has eliminated all my heating problems as discussed earlier.

You can get parts from the Lennox website, get an extra gasket kit for the combustion air blower/electrode connection (p/n LB-91393A ~$70). I recommend you need a couple Taco cartridge units - check for Taco circulator (p/n 005-020rp) sources on google and ebay ($31 to $75 each). Make sure that the taco circulators are actually turning; the unit in the HM30 is installed in a configuration that the manufacturer (Taco) doesn't recommend. It can go out without shutting down the process but give you short cycling and periodic outages (overtemps in primary limit switch) that are maddening.

It seems challenging but the HM30 is great when it is working right and a nightmare when it ain't. Let us know your progress.
