Home depot is very clear on letting their customers know that the contractors do not work for HD. They have hundreds of different subs per store. Doors, roofs, sheds, tile, carpet etc. They have very good subs, which they check out, they have so-so subs they take a chance on when their pool of subs gets thin. They stop giving work orders to people that get complaints. Most work is guaranteed, but if some guy does a bad door installation they will only make sure your door gets installed. If the sub drilled through your conduit and shorts out half of your house, HD will not do a thing for you except apologize. You should be able to get references on the sub for work done for HD to put your mind at ease.
