Ceiling Paint Problems

Posted by Michael M on March 2nd, 2004 10:25 AM

I am having a difficult time covering my kitchen ceiling. The ceiling had alot of yellow stains. I primed it 2x with a California Paint Primer/Sealer Then painted and the yellow still bled through. I also used a California Ceiling Paint. I painted another coat and it still bled through. So in haste and frustration, we decided to texture the ceiling. We bought Accu-Tex popcorn mixture that gets added to the paint. The yellow still bled through as if I had missed the stains. The upstairs bathroom came out beautiful, but I don't want to cook and eat in the bathroom :) Someone had mentioned applying polyurethene to the ceiling. Time and Money are starting to accumulate on a small project. Any ideas or help ?????

Thanks
