I contacted Maytag this morning (the dryer stopped working last night)and they are sending the washer kit out immediately(a dryer tech will be out later today). When I gave them my phone number, they already knew everything about my appliances. Its a shame they didn't just send the kit to everyone who had registered their products. May have save a lot of time and heartache.
