First, is the mold on the inside of your house. I have never dealt with mold inside of a home. However, I do know there are several ways to kill mold....but, in your case I would recommend a professional look at your home if it's on the inside. I also assume that your house doesn't have central cooling, a central air unit pulls humidy/moisture from the air. Also, a dehumidifier will do the same. Once you determine what kind of mold you have and once it's clean, you can use a mold inhibitor paint. Also, bath rooms are breeding grounds for mold so use an exhaust fan. If you have carpet in the basement you may want to pull it out. Carpet tends to hold more mold than hardwood or tiles. Hope this helps, I too have lived in an older home, 1920's and fought mildew on the siding and soffits.
