I was wondering if it was possible to refinish a kitchen cabinet and entertainment center that were made out of compressed wood ( that new cheap fake stuff). I live in a mobile home, and the entertainement center is built in, so I can't get rid of it. But the cabinets and the Ent. center match and are dark black. I want to lighten them up, by restaining them or painting them.. I am unsure of what can be done to this type of particle board.
