ceiling fan wiring

Im trying to install a ceiling fan.The junction box that im installing the fan in has 3 sets of wires 1st set of wires black white and ground got to the breaker the 2nd and 3rd set do not.I connected all 3 blacks and 3 whites together it works fine,but if I try to install the black wire(ceiling fan motor) and the light wire to the main black wire and the white wire to the main white wire the breaker trips.Note: the 2nd set of main wires go to a 2nd bedroom.The third set go to a hall light.What Im I doing wrong as far as wiring everything up. Please help
