I have the same problem and root caused it to water leaking from the bottom of the combustion fan (so far). Apparently my drain line may have an issue, however, problem started one day after installation of an Aprilaire humidifier.
My best guess the exhaust fan (2 pieces) is not sealed very well housing to housing. Any water build up that cannot be quickly drain thru drain lines builds up in combustion fan
Any follow up on your soln to your Jan 03 posts?
