I am wanting to hang paneling over the inside of some basement walls. The basement is below grade and the walls are irregular shaped stones- not a level wall surface. Should I cover the walls with a plastic type of moisture barrier or insulation material, before hanging the panels? Also, to hang the paneling on such a irregular surface...how can I get my studs to be somewhat uniform/level across the wall surface? Any suggestions are appreciated.
