I bought mine in 2001 and just last week the electric heating element failed and melt a portion of the utensil basket. The timer now hangs up at 76 (normal wash). I'm wondering if the control panel caused the failure of the heating element or whether the failure of the control panel caused the heating element failue. Anyone have a similar problem? Has Kenmore said anything about this problem?
