plaster is better than drywall
why are you planing to do this>?
if the plaster has only minor damage it can be easly restored
plaster walls are not framed the way a drywall wall is framed, your looking at lota of work besides this base molding problem, you have frameing to do, move all the electrical boxes, door, window frameing and molding problems there also, as well as the fact that your lath runs from one room to the next and ripping out can crack plaster in next room or weaken it
why are you doing this? i would much rather have plaster walls than drywall?
and besides blueboard is vapor barrier, is not the right stuff for a living room. regular drywall is what you need, blueboard may get moldy, the room has to breathe. you need regular 5/8" firerated drywall for walls and 1/2" for ceiling
