wood stove pipe clearance

i have a existing brick fireplace which i want to build a gyrock wall to cover it up and put tiles over gyrock for a wood stove. i now have to extend my stove pipe from existing opening in fireplace out past gyrock and tiles which is about 7in's. what can i do to make that piece of pipe safe [ incase in brick or concrete if so how much and do i need a space from concrete or brick to pipe thank you
