Do you think you're lookin' at a crawlspace?! You're right. It would be more difficult to get concrete into the basement with the house framed, depending too on where the 'openings' into the basement are. FWIW, crawlspaces are not 8'+ high; they're usually 1-4', rarely more, in height.
